Even before they were born, they, with many others, received their first lessons in

 the world of spirits and were prepared to come forth in the due time of the Lord to labor in 

his vineyard for the salvation of the souls of men.

Lesson
The purpose of this lesson is for the children to teach the adults the Plan of Salvation in their own words. From Teaching, No Greater Calling, we learn, "To be able to fully exercise our agency in righteousness, we must learn of the Savior and the doctrines of His gospel. Because of this, gospel teaching has always played an essential role in Heavenly Father’s plan for His children."

While you will still need to provide some assistance in preparing the lesson, allowing the children to teach a lesson about the Plan of Salvation will provide them with a deeper understanding of the principles and the value of the gospel. Listed below are some resources that are available for preparation.

1. Lesson One from this blog. It is okay for the children to give this lesson from several weeks ago. Repetition allows understanding.
2. Stories found on lds.org. Stories provide a personal relation to the principles. However, it is important to use stories that will uplift and teach instead of those only provide a "wow" factor. From Teaching, No Greater Calling, "When we use...the words of latter-day prophets as the source of all our teaching, we invite the Spirit to bear witness. This brings to our teaching “the power of God unto the convincing of men” (D&C 11:21).
3. Videos from lds.org. The Church has some wonderful clips and videos that teach principles. Browse them with your child and allow them to choose which one they want to share with the family. 
4. Scriptures. Never underestimate the testimony and spirit reading the stories found in the scripture will bring to a Family Home Evening. Whenever possible, we should teach straight from the scriptures. Speaking about this topic, Elder Boyd K. Packer said, "No worldly ideas or principles have this power. No spellbinding lectures or entertaining presentations can touch individuals so profoundly that they turn their hearts to Christ. Centering our teaching on the truths of the gospel is the only way we can become instruments in God’s hands to help instill the faith that will lead others to repent and come unto Him."
